Gumby Navedo| Reflections about the economic problem of P.R.

This is the damage that corrupt politicians of the island of Puerto Rico have done against the people of the island. Many decades of theft from state and federal funds have led to this. I, like Puertorrican feel a shame that this happened , it is a total shame. They have abused the power that the people of the island given them . They’ve been stealing for so many years that I do not understand why the federal government not intervened and start putting these people one by one in jail. There is no credibility in the government of the island. For all Puerto Ricans who live outside of our island is hard to see what is coming . What can we do as a Puerto Rican , we care about the future and fate of our island. It’s enough already with the delinquency , insecurity , unemployment , poor quality of life for which we have been subjected and which many have come out looking for better opportunities for our children and families. Thank God that at least that many are in USA and we can develop ourselves better. But that will not last long , we have to find a solution to this. Or ask Washington for independence or being a state of the Union , unfortunately the practice of ELA, has failed . We must find new resources for a better future for our island ….. what we can do ? … Any ideas ? Consider that there are states of this nation who are bankrupt, take for example Michigan, where is the city of Detroit that is in bankruptcy and the federal government is debating to move forward to help the city of Detroit. Politicians in Puerto Rico and the people were not smart enough to take advantage of what the advantage of being a State had given so many benefits and improved quality of life, this very sad ……
